Women’s Health, Community Education and Public Art

FreeShilpa Darivemula, Aseemkala and UNC student groups invite you for an afternoon of community education, public murali creation, and advocacy discussion on menstrual equity in the South Asian diaspora of North Carolina! This event will take place at UNC’s Active Learning Theater in Roper Hall on October 12th from 2:00 to 4:30 PM.
Event Highlights Include:
- Keynote Speakers: Learn about health policies, legislation, innovation, and the latest studies surrounding reproductive equity in North Carolina from researchers, lawmakers, and FemTech innovators
- Community Discussion Tables: Engage in meaningful conversations to share recommendations for improving menstrual knowledge and equity within the South Asian community.
- Participatory Public Art Project: Contribute to an interactive public art mural portraying narratives and discussions regarding menstruation in the South Asian diaspora with artist Mayanthi Jayawardena from the Serendib Creative
