Mayer-Davis is a researcher from the Department of Nutrition of the Gillings School. She and another professor from the department have recently received funding from the National Institutes of Health for a collaborative grant to examine the incidence and prevalence of diabetes in youth and young adults in India and the United States. Over the course of two years, the team will focus on developing research partnerships on diabetes to investigate how the countries can best work in tandem to reduce the impact of the disease.
